As a personal trainer there’s something powerful about helping women feel strong and confident in their bodies. The gym is a place of transformation, and I loved being a part of that. Recently, many of my clients were entering a new season of life—midlife. The physical and emotional changes were intense. They were navigating empty nests, caring for aging parents, rediscovering relationships with spouses, and asking themselves tough questions about who they are now and what comes next. At the same time, their bodies were changing in ways that surprised and frustrated them. Hormonal shifts affect everything from sleep, mood, weight, energy, and even confidence. They just felt off. Their experiences were beginning to mirror my own. Years ago, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that left me feeling powerless and disconnected from my body. It was strength training that became my lifeline. The same was true throughout the loss of my parents and in-laws. Through movement, I found not only physical strength, but emotional resilience and hope. More recently, I’ve faced some of life’s most profound transitions myself. The empty nest phase with my own children, and I’ve experienced the heartbreaking loss of my husband, becoming a widow far earlier than imaginable. These experiences challenged me in unexpected ways and introduced me to life and wellness coaching as I was seeking more than just the gym. My transitions and struggles have deepened my empathy and understanding for the women I serve. Women needed more understanding, more tools, more holistic support. That’s when I made the decision to expand from personal training into wellness coaching. I studied, I listened, I learned everything I could about the unique challenges women face in midlife. I opened my doors with one goal: to help women feel empowered in every aspect of their lives. We still lift heavy but now we also talk about hormones, sleep, grief, identity, relationships, and purpose.
